I was going to write a post, but you know what? It’s my first day back at work after almost 3 weeks so I say to you fuck it… let’s do a meme instead!

1. What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before? Climbed Sydney Harbour Bridge just like these famoooos people.
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I gave up smoking at 10.30pm on December 31st, 2006 and even after a couple of drunken experimental drags I am still happily smoke free!
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Yes, my cousin Leah had baby Tom.
4. Did anyone close to you die? Sadly I lost 2 Great Uncles. 2008 sucked for my family heath wise.
5. What countries did you visit? New Caledonia & Vanuatu.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008? Better health.
7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? Um. 25th of December. Probably because we just had Christmas. No major occurrences in 2008.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Giving up the ‘moking and starting the gym.
9. What was your biggest failure? Stopping the gym after getting sick mid-year
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Yes. See above. The dreaded fucking tonsillitis.
11. What was the best thing you bought? My new eyes!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? The United States
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Oh god, where to start? So many people need a pigwhacking. This fucker is top of my list.
14. Where did most of your money go? New eyes, broken car , moving to Canberra and going on a cruise.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Finally moving in with Mick
16. What song will always remind you of 2008? Unfortunately, it’s this piece of shit

18. What do you wish you’d done more of? Exercise
19. What do you wish you’d done less of? Eating fried chicken, hot chips and White Castelloon crackers with quince paste. Never all together mind you – that would be uncouth!
20. How did you spend Christmas in 2008? We hosted Christmas lunch for most of Mick’s family and a few of mine in our backyard. It was a great day but I was so busy I hardly even drank = miffed.
21. Did you fall in love in 2008? Already was in love
22. How many one-night stands? Nada.
23. What was your favorite TV program? Gossip Girl and the perennial America’s Next Top Model. I love you Ty Ty.
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year? No one I personally know.
25. What was the best book you read? Huh. I for reals cannot remember a single book I read this year. Yet, I read a LOT. Oh, yes. I remember now! Without a doubt my lovely shiny Shauna’s book comes in at NUMBER ONE BITCHES! If you have not bought it please do so, it’s funny and sad and I LOVA it. I also quite enjoyed The Family Way and Stories We Could Tell by Tony Parsons.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery? Duffy, Adele & Carla . It would seem I am all about my fellow wimmen folk.
27. What did you want and get? The ability to see without glasses, the ability to go a day without smoking and a move to Canberra.
28. What did you want and not get? A shit-hot body.
29. What was your favorite film of this year? Slumdog Millionaire(or Scumdog as I accidentally keep saying) and of course Sex and The City was just a big old gorgeous clothes fest – I fucking loved it.
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? My birthday was on a Monday just after Christmas so we had a family barbie on the Sunday, complete with cake. On Monday I opened all of my presents from Mick which included perfume, a board game and a gorgeous retro apron. We watched The Sex and The City dvd (also a present from Mick – now with complimentary stylish tote!) and then had a late brunch of Yum Cha . We waddled out of the Dim Sim house and headed over to the new National Portrait Gallery where we went on a pretty dull, but thankfully short, tour. We finished off the day by going to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Overall an awesome day. Shame I had to go and ruin it by turning thirty two. Egads.
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Feeling professionally fulfilled. That and more cheese.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008? Que? I wear whatever fits… and I like to shop however I would not say there was any concept involved.
33. What kept you sane? Mick, wine and valium – never together.
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Josh Duhamel is quite fanciable.
35. What political issue stirred you the most? The fact that I think the majority of politicians are arseholes.
36. Who did you miss? My friends in the UK and my family and friends in QLD and my friends in Sydney. Refreshingly, I no longer miss Mick because we thankfully live in the same house now.
37. Who was the best new person you met? My friend Moz.
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008. Smoking really does smell.
39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year. I really can’t think of one sorry. Possibly something about being uninspired?
40. What are your resolutions for 2009? Well, how embarrassing. I have a whole resolution about chicken.
