I had the WORST nights sleep last night.
I left my two lovely, lovely, favourite, beautiful pillows at Mick’s house in Canberra. Now… I am sure they are in good hands and all, but bar a few nights here and there I have not been without a latex pillow for FIVE years.
I love, love latex pillows. They are the bomb.
One of my best friends, Anita, introduced me to them. Her pillows were like marshmallow, but firm… and I didn’t feel like they were filled with dust. I hate feather pillows, I wheeze just looking at them and I hate lumpy old heavy pillows, they hurt my ears.
Anita came to stay with me for a week when I moved to Denmark and packed a brand new pillow for me. It’s been with me ever since. Thanks Neets, I’ve never looked back.
For a long time I used that pillow in conjunction with a shitty old lumpy one that just appeared in my life but early last year they had a sale on manchester at Kmart for latex pillows so I bought a second one.
And we have been so happy together… but now… we are apart for four weeks.
I thought I would be alright, I am tough… I had two spare pillows that I bought for visitors.
Can I just apologise to my visitors right now?
Those are two of the shittest, cheapest, nastiest farking pillows I have ever tried to sleep with in my life.
First I tried the pillows au naturel as it were…. very flat…
Then I tried folding up a towel and putting it under the two pillows… hard… hurts ears… and still flat…
Then I tried the big velvety, feather trimmed cushion from the lounge (also a present from Anita. I love you Anita) but head kept falling either side of the cushion shaped lump in the middle of pillows.
Then I tried the two silk cushions side by side with the two pillows on top. This was marginally better and I managed to get to sleep but 2 pillows on top of two silk cushions means extra slidey, “schzoozy” noises and a restless sleep.
Bugger that.
Today I went an bought a new pillow.
So, so happy.
I can’t wait to go to bed.

I have one of those latex ones – it came in it’s own suitcase and I LOVE it!!!
Your pillows are enjoying their holiday
So am I!
I will have to try these as i have trouble sleeping.
Sometimes scotch helps. Especially when mixed with sleeping pills.
I haven’t got a Latex pillow, but I want one. It sounds rather naughty!
A good pillow makes a world of difference, doesn’t it?
I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a latex pillow. Interesting.
