NabloPoMo – Day Eighteen.

18 11 2007

Let’s face it kids, both of us will be glad when this month is over.

Thanks to Mick for care taking, otherwise it would have been all over bar the shouting on Thursday night.

Dad’s 60th was great, a lot of people I have not seen in a very long time. It made me a bit sad though as there were a couple of people I have not seen and they look terribly old and frail. These are the people who were giants when I was a kid. One was always able to fix me when I was sick and delivered both my brother and I into this world, the other always made sure include me in conversation when I felt left out and would lift me up to sit on a ladder so I could eat grapes straight from the vine, still warm from the sun.

It’s extremely hard and a little confronting to realise they are aging and so is my Dad.

Part of me hopes they are all around forever, the world will be such a hard place for me without them.

I had fun too!

The thing about old people? They have so much to tell us. I enjoyed listening to stories of times past. And if we listen, then we can pass the same stories on..

Thanks baby…miss you already…

Happy 60th to your dad LaLa!

Yes age is so confronting, but such an achievement too!
