Have any of you watched 28 Days Later? Or it’s sequel 28 Weeks Later?
I first watched 28 Days Later about 3 or 4 years ago, I remember being extremely hungover and I got so scared that I thought I was about to give myself a heart attack. I am not sure what I was expecting but it certainly wasn’t me having to watch Finding Nemo afterwards just so that I could calm the fuck down.
I watched 28 Weeks Later on the weekend, again, hungover. I never do learn.
With both of these movies I found it hard to switch off after I finished watching them. It’s not just because they are horror/zombie movies, the whole storyline just sticks with me and stays on my mind.
When I was a kid at times I had an extremely overactive imagination, one of my greatest fears was that everyone around me were actually Witches (No. I don’t know why either), so these movies are almost like my childhood fears incarnate.
The movies also feature some familiar footage from around London. In the first movie they visit a house in Deptford, the suburb I loved in, in the second movie the zombies go zombie-ing down the tube stairs at Moorgate, where I worked. Seeing places I remember and the stairs I walked down every day kind of freaks me out.
Having said all of this though, I don’t want you to think I don’t like these movies, in fact, I can recommend them.
Can anyone shed any light on the end of 28 Weeks Later? I think I know what happens… but can’t be sure.
